Looking through the blogs I love to read I came across a post by Alix (icovetthee) called a monthly round-up where you basically summarise the posts that were uploaded to the blog throughout the month. So I thought I’d give it a go at doing my own version!!

Alix picked her top 10 but I only managed to put up a limited amount so I’m going to do the majority of the posts, so let’s get into this and end the rambles.

Thrifting has become a rather popular activity all over the world, confirmed by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in their number 1. single “Thrift shop”

However as far back as I can remember I’ve been going to car boot sales, fayres in various churches dotted around my area as well as local charity shops picking up various items that I showed an interest in. I remember picking up a typewriter when I was about 7 or 8 at a local fayre and writing stories on it and giving them to people as presents (if you couldn’t tell, I love writing) and coincidentally I also love to pick up books from these places.

Yesterday, well yesterday was different. Me & my flat mates as well as a few of the honoury Camelot members ambled down to a car boot sale in our local village. Amelia, Lucy & I were mainly scouting out some home decor for our house which we get the keys to on July 1st!! Our first ever home away from our parents, because let’s face it you can’t count dorms as home away from home.

After buying a few pieces we realised that maybe we had a theme going on here; vintage yet modern.

Polaroid

Like every other Apple product owner, I too am part of the cliché Instagram clan that has slowly taken over the social media world. I am not ashamed to admit that I love my instagram, best invention ever!! (After my iPhone of course). Instagram was the extent of my photography due to the amount of time I have for myself even though I do enjoy taking & editing photos at a mediocre level, but yesterday I was browsing through my other guilty pleasure (Tumblr) and I came across a beautiful polaroid camera. 

It made me realise how useful a polaroid would be for me in my profession as well as just being a fun camera to own to take silly snaps with friends and instantly having a copy rather than having to go through the technology of uploading to a computer & printing out either through a printer or a supermarket.

How cute would polaroids be added in to my fashion sketchbooks instead of standard photos printed off on an average home printer?!

Snap Snap!!

Photography is a big thing in our modern culture and it's surprising how many different types of photography there actually is; documentary, fashion, advertising, standard photography, etc. 

My flat consists of mainly creative courses, we're made up of PFA (photography of fashion & advertising), Film, Documentary photography, Fashion, Documentary film and Creative theraputic arts. You could say that we all kind of bounce off each other and would be able to help each other out at one point or another, which is what this post is all about. 

One of my good friends Amelia is on the PFA course and we were talking about our blogs and whatever, so I suggested that I'd reccomend her on my blog as we're both starting out trying to break into the blogsphere.
